Winter Wildcrafting: Working with Adaptogens

  • Buena Vista, CO, 81211 United States (map)

Baby it’s cold outside… yup. It finally feels like winter. All along the snow-covered trails, if you look carefully, you’ll find an abundance of edible and medicinal plants in our local bioregion (and likely even your yard!). In fact, it’s one of my favorite times to mindfully gather because frost changes the flavor profile of the needles and berries that are available. Would you like to learn more about what’s available this time of year? Then come sit by the fire with me while we discuss how to identify and use some of winter’s harvest. We’ll talk about the medicinal and nutritional value of the herbs that can be found this time of year, as well as what to do with the plants we can gather. We will especially focus on adaptogens—active ingredients in certain plants and mushrooms—that improve the way our bodies respond to stress, anxiety, and fatigue. We’ll also make a delicious adaptogenic remedy for you to take home! Cost: $20, sign up here to reserve your spot!
